Fish Assemblage of the Epitolu – Kime Channel Section of the Lower Taylor Creek, Niger Delta, Nigeria


Results of a seven-month study on the fish assemblage of the Epitolu-Kime channel section of the Lower Taylor Creek, Niger Delta, Nigeria has just been published. The study revealed that 33 fish species were found in the creek and Cichlids were the most abundant species in the creek. More details can be gotten from the paper through the following link:

148th Inaugural Lecture of the University of Port Harcourt

Group photograph of the lecturer of the 148th Inaugural Lecture, Prof. (Mrs) Aduabobo I. Hart, a fellow of the Fisheries Society of Nigeria, with her former students and the Emeritus Professor S.N. Okiwelu during her inaugural lecture at the Unique University of Port Harcourt. The title of the lecture was "The Unsung Heroes of Our Time". According to Prof. Hart, macrobenthos are the unsung heroes of our water bodies. She pleaded that we should appreciate their roles in societal development and protect the health of their habitats.
